Stephenson Quarter Regeneration

27/07/2020

Newcastle City Council has joined forces with a private sector developer to complete phase 2 of the rebirth of the Stephenson Quarter – one of the UK’s most high-profile development sites. The partnership will facilitate the regeneration of 4.3 acres of brownfield land behind Central Station, creating an estimated 2,000 jobs.

After decades of neglect, Black & White are proud to be involved in providing the MEP design services, creating a unique and thriving place of quality in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne. This final phase will see the remainder of the site’s historic buildings brought back to life.

An estimated £104m of investment will transform six plots over a seven-year period, offering new residential development, office space, leisure and public spaces.

“This is fantastic news for Newcastle and the regional economy. It will hopefully attract residents, businesses and visitors alike” comments Steven Horn, Director from our Newcastle office. “We are looking forward to working with all the partners on this ambitious vision.”
