Project: Fujairah Mixed Use Development

Description: Beach front located large mixed use development comprising hotel, mall and residential tower

Location: Fujairah, UAE

Client: Fujairah Government

Architect: ADPi

Year: 2011

Appointed by ADPI our commissioning included MEP & AV/IT  full design services to tender documents for a 4-star hotel (designed to Hilton brand standards) a shopping mall and a luxury residential tower. The development is part of a large mixed-use project which in addition to the hotel includes residences, offices, retail/shopping centre. The  hotel floor area covers approximately 58,000 m², with 305 guestrooms.

The project utilizes a whole building approach to sustainability incorporating the techniques of sustainable rating systems such as LEED, BREEAM and ESTIDAMA. The whole building approach combines all aspects of sustainable building design into a single approach so that techniques work in unison providing a synergy effect. An investigation into the optimal combination of passive strategies has reduced of the proposed design peak coincidental cooling demand by 30-35% over the standard ‘typical’ design.
